It’s time for the weekly update on how I’m doing with the writing of my forthcoming book, “Confessions Of A Spiteful Writer.”
Sadly, once again, I’m not that much further along than I was last week. I had some personal things come up and I really needed to do a cleaning on my apartment, so not much writing got done.
I really think that I’m going to have to take a week off soon and just devote a couple days to purely writing on my book. Hopefully this week I’ll knock out a couple more chapters. Time will tell!
I posted my weekly YouTube video which is a little bit of a companion to the book. If you want to see this week’s video, just click here or on the picture below to see this episode which is me telling about getting a phone call from Moon Zappa and how I hoped to meet her that night at Spin magazine’s tenth anniversary party at Irving Plaza back in the summer of 1995.

Chapter Seven - 1993: Dick Stolley
“Because Dick Stolley is the founding editor of People magazine, the magazine you’ve based your Peoria publication on. Right now, Dick Stolley is the Editorial Director of Time Inc. He oversees all of the publications there and is a media mogul in New York City,” he said with a knowing grin on his face.
“Okay, so why would he give a shit about anything that I’ve done?” I fired back.
Kent laughed and replied, “Because he’s from Pekin. He was born here and he was the sports editor of The Pekin Daily Times when he was 16-years-old. I bet he’d get a kick out of the fact that you’ve created a local People magazine in Peoria and he’d probably love your Pekin Daily Times articles!”
