The other day when I was grocery shopping at Schnucks, I happened to notice that they have a wall of Hostess snack cakes, donuts and pies and as I looked at it I saw a few items I had never seen before.
I made a mental note to go back and get them for this Friday’s Snack Attack post, so let’s get all mental and get over there and pick them up!
Here we are at Schnucks, let’s go inside and there’s the aisle that houses the great wall of Hostess snacks…
There it is…all in all your just another Hostess snack in the wall!
There’s all the regular Hostess snacks we’ve gotten sugar highs from through the years: Twinkies, Fruit Pies, Cupcakes and Ding Dongs, oh my!
But there’s a trio of snack cakes here that I’ve never seen or heard of before. I’m going to purchase these cakes and we’ll examine them back at the Snack Sampling Area at The MBIP World Headquarters.

Okay, through the miracle of these here interwebs, here we are at the Snack Sampling Area at The MBIP World Headquarters.
The trio of unknown Hostess snack cakes are, from clockwise from bottom left: Meltamors, Kazbars and Banana Twinkies.
Let’s sample these sweet treats and see if they are suitable snacking material.

Hostess Snack Cake Number One: Kazbars
I wonder if the name of this Hostess snack cake was influenced by The Clash: “Rock the Kazbar, rock the Kazbar!”
These are tiny snack cakes, but I have to say that they are definitely a sweet and crunchy treat!
The caramel crunch is what takes it over the top, this is definitely a top-flight sweet snack item! We’re off to a sweet start indeed!

Hostess Snack Cake Number Two: Meltamors
I wonder if Meltamors is any relation to Mel Cooley?
Okay, I know that’s a stretch, but anytime you can make a Mel Cooley reference, you just have to do it, it’s the rules!
There’s two ways to eat this Hostess snack cake, number one: Right out of the individual bag. It’s okay, but nothing special.
The second way is to eat it warm and here’s the microwave instructions.
I followed the instructions and warm is definitely the way to go for the Meltamors snack cake.
It brought out the sweetness of the filling and the chocolate flavor of the cake. Very snackable!
Hostess Snack Cake Number Three: Banana Twinkies
We’re all familiar with the Twinkie snack cake and if you’re like me, it always brings back this Ghostbusters memory.
But I’ve never seen a Banana Twinkie before!
It looks the same as a regular Twinkie and after I took a bite, I taste no banana flavoring at all. It just tastes like a regular Twinkie. And they’ve shrunk the size of it.
Kind of a disappointment, so let’s just remember that Ghostbusters scene and move along here.
Look who just joined our snack party, Little Debbie! She just loves that cream filling because she’s a little whore! You go girl! Go far, far away!
