One thing that’s fun about doing these weekly snack posts is rediscovering a snack item I haven’t had for a while.
The other day I was walking down an aisle at the grocery store and saw a display of Pop Tarts and realized I haven’t had one of those since high school and that was in the ’70’’s!
I’d say it’s time to try a Pop Tart for the first time in over four decades!
I think most of you know our next destination by now! If you don’t, you’re going to find out in about two seconds as you scroll on down!

Schnucks On University
And yes, here we are at my snacking destination for so many of these posts, Schnuck’s on University, just about a 90 second car ride from the MBIP Headquarters.
Let’s go inside and find the Pop Tarts display!
There it is in all it’s Pop Tarted up glory!
I have three flavors that I want to try, we’ll purchase those and head back to the MBIP World Headquarters!

The MBIP Snacking Area In The MBIP World Headquarters
We’re in the MBIP Snacking Area and here’s the trio of Pop Tarts that I’ve never tasted before. Okay, time to start unboxing these sweet snacks!

Pop Tart Number One: Frosted S’Mores
The first Pop Tarts flavor is Frosted S’Mores. I can’t remember the last time I ever had a S’Mores snack, so I’m looking forward to trying this Pop Tart flavor out.
I don’t have a toaster, but luckily there’s directions for the microwave.
There’s also directions for freezing the Pop Tarts…who in the fuck freezes Pop Tarts?
They suggested heating them for three seconds in the microwave, but that seems a little kooky. I set the timer for ten seconds.
Ten seconds was a perfect warming time and the Pop Tart is warm, but not overly heated.
The only problem was the taste of the Pop Tart…there was none! It truly had no taste and was kind of like eating cardboard. Even the icing had no flavor or sweetness.
Hopefully we can only go uphill from here. Onto the next Pop Tart!

Pop Tart Number Two: Girl Scouts Frosted Thin Mints
Pop Tart number two is a Pop Tart that is modeled after the Girl Scout Thin Mints cookie. That’s my favorite Girl Scouts flavor of cookie, so hopefully this will be better than the last one.
Into the microwave for a quick ten second blast and…
Once again, there’s no flavor here. No chocolate, no mint, nothing.
Another disappointing Pop Tart moment.
Let’s hope the third one is charmed!

Pop Tart Number Three: Frosted Cinnamon Roll
The third flavor is Frosted Cinnamon Roll.
Check out the frosting, it’s kind of out of whack.
It starts out low and and then goes all the way to the end. I opened up another package and it was frosted in the same fashion.
Time for the ten second stint in the microwave and…
I’m happy and thrilled to announce that the third time was indeed charmed!
These had a nice cinnamon flavor and there was more filling inside than the first two. The frosting was unbalanced, but at least this one had some sweet flavor!
Nice to end on a high note!

Vintage Pop Tart photos
Here’s some Pop Tart photos and ads I found online.
I also just realized that Pop Tarts is hyphenated and I haven’t done that. Whoops, too late to turn back now!

Pop Tart Videos
Since this is in black and white, I’m guessing it’s an ad from the ‘60’s, when they first brought this unique snack item out.
Here’s a quick seven minute history of Pop Tarts. And yes, I’m not going to start hyphenating now. Might as well stay consistent.
Check out the U,K. versus the U.S. in the Pop Tart Food Wars!
Have a fabulous Friday and happy snacking, everyone! We’ll see you tomorrow!
