Okay, last Friday was the official first day of summer so that can mean only one thing: A trip to go see Vanna Whitewall in her bikini in downtown Peoria and then an ice cream treat at Peoria’s newest and completely locally-owned ice cream parlor in Peoria Heights, The Daily Scoop!

There’s Vanna Whitewall in all her bikini glory!
She stands tall on Washington Street in front of the Plaza Tire Store looking beautiful as always. Unlike the rest of us, Vanna never ages!

A Summer Ice Cream Treat At The Daily Scoop!
We took a quick trip to Peoria Heights and there’s Peoria’s newest ice cream parlor, The Daily Scoop!
Since 2009, this has been a franchised Emack & Bolio’s store, but now it is The Daily Scoop. The owners Matt and Cathy said that they wanted to take sole ownership of it and it is now a totally local and family-owned business, right here in Peoria Heights!
There’s the new logo on the window and now let’s go in and check out The Daily Scoop!
It’s very nice in here and in addition to the new name of The Daily Scoop, the ice cream selection has many more flavors on the menu. There’s about three times the selections in here now as opposed to the Emack flavors.
Brysen was working behind the counter and he took my ice cream order and said I was welcome to take some photos in here, so that’s exactly what we’ll do!
There’s a massive selection of flavored and frosted cones and bowls in here at this front cabinet.
Here’s the marker wall with a white board that features the daily specials and people are encouraged to leave their own art and messages here.
I love the colorful art and concert photos on the walls in here, it adds to the fun vibe of the ice cream parlor.
The new logo was created by local artist, Devin McGlone.
Now it’s time to find a table and enjoy my cool and delicious ice cream treat!
I got the Praline Pecan and it was creamy and so tasty on this summer afternoon!
Stop by for a cool treat at The Daily Scoop, they’re open Tuesday through Sunday from 2pm to 8pm!
