Live, from East Peoria, it’s Saturday Night, starring this week’s host, Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse and featuring special guest stars, Amy, Amber and Joe!
Now, please welcome from East Peoria, this week’s host, Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse!
Here we are at Holiday Inn & Suites in East Peoria, the building that houses Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse. We’ll get a photo of Johnny’s lit up sign when we leave when it’s dark out here.
Let’s go in and start this week’s Saturday night out on the town!
There’s Amy at the host station in the front of the restaurant. I’ve taken Amy’s photo before and it was great to see her again.
Amy’s husband is Peoria blog pioneer, CJ Summers. His blog is the Peoria Chronicle which he started way back in 2005 and he still updates it occasionally.
As I entered the restaurant I saw the backs of two familiar faces…
It’s my friends and frequent MBIP blog guest stars, Amber and Joe!
They’re looking fabulous as always and it’s always a pleasure to spend Saturday night with these two fun friends!
We checked out the menu and placed our order.
Our server was a little shy and didn’t want her photo taken, so you’ll just have to use your imagination as to what she looked like. A fun, Monday morning imagination exercise!
We started our Saturday night meal off with an appetizer order of Toasted Ravioli which comes with a marinara dipping sauce.
These were crispy and almost cookie-like treats with a rich creamy filling in them. They were delicious!
There’s Amber and Joe digging in to the evening’s appetizer treat!
Now I must abandon them to take the nightly photos of the restaurant.
There’s comfortable booths and tables all over the expansive dining room in here.
Booths line the wall outside of the circular bar in the center of the dining room.
And here is that circular bar that I just mentioned. I love the blue lighting in here and there are comfortable booths for dining in the bar area.
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Our Saturday night dinner is starting to arrive!
Joe and I each got a salad to start the meal off with and Amber got a cup of the French Onion Soup. A wonderful and tasty start to our Saturday night dinner!
Here’s our main courses for this week’s Saturday night dinner: Amber got the Johnny’s Minelli, which is Fettucine in a creamy garlic sauce, Joe got the Chubby Cut Top Sirloin with a baked potato and I got the Filet Oscar with a cup of the French Onion Soup and some grilled onions on the side.
Everything looks absolutely delicious! Time to dig in to this week’s Saturday night feast!
Amber said the French Onion Soup was a real treat and she was correct! Lots of cheese and toasted bread and the soup had a fabulous flavor to it.
We’re off to a fabulous start to our meal!
Amber and Joe said their meals were fantastic and here they are digging in to them!
I got the Filet Oscar for my main course and it was such a tasty treat!
It’s a filet topped with a crab cake and lobster hollandaise sauce. It’s also served with asparagus tips and I got some extra grilled onions with it.
The steak was so tasty and the crab cake and hollandaise sauce added a level of such rich flavor! What a wonderful and flavorful dinner!
And here’s that outside night photo of Johnny’s I promised you earlier!
Thanks to everyone at Johnny’s for the fantastic Saturday night meal and friendly service and thanks to Amber and Joe for joining me for this week’s Saturday night dinner!
