I had a lot of people recommend Kep’s Sports Bar & Grill in Washington for the first chicken wing tour and just never made it there. That’s the reason for this second chicken wing tour to hit some of the places that were suggested that I just never had time for. And since this is a road trip outside of Peoria, I have a feeling that pretty soon we’re going to be hearing...
A knock at the door! And there it is, three knocks in true Tony Orlando style! But I bet it’s not Tony behind the door...
It’s MBIP pal, Contributing Writer and wheelman, Scott Turley! Off we go towards Washington, Illinois!
Drive-by shot of Kep’s Sports Bar & Grill!
Wow, this place looks huge! It looks more like a warehouse than a bar! Let’s go in and see what’s going on inside of Kep’s.
It’s pretty crowded in here, but I spy two seats all the way at the end of the bar, so Scott and I will snag those and get settled in for the afternoon.
Michelle is the pretty and friendly bartender on duty this afternoon and here she is serving up the first beer of the day and looking magnificent while doing so!
She also took our chicken wing order and while it’s being prepared back there in the kitchen, let’s take a look around at Kep’s Sports Bar & Grill.
The dining room opposite the bar is huge! Here’s a two shots from the front and back of it.
There’s a score card sign at the front of the dining room. That sign is giving me a Yeah Yeah Yeahs flashback moment!
As you can see, there’s no shortage of TV sets in here, it’s a perfect place for Gene of the BBC! Kind of a UFB moment if you will! You out there Gene?
Over in this corner there’s arcade games, including a claw game where you can win stuffed animals. #AmberAlert
The stocking is hung by the Michelob Ultra sign with care. It’s pretty damn festive if I do say so myself and I just did, so there!
Meanwhile, back at the bar, it’s chicken wing time!
We got an order of ten wings with ten different flavors. I should’ve written them all down, but I didn’t so I can’t remember them all, but some of them included, mild, hot, BBQ, Chipotle BBQ, naked and five other flavors. I really need to start writing this stuff down, but what are you going to do?
I took five flavors of wings and left the other five for Scott. Here’s my wings undergoing the all-important cooling process which allows me...
To have another beer, which is served up by Emily with a fantastic smile! How about them Bears?
Okay, Scott and I dig into the wings and they are really good! The variety of flavors are all tasty and the wings are plump and juicy!
Weekly bones and napkin shot!
One thing that Scott and I noticed after eating the wings were how Michelle really moved around the bar. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bartender move around a bar that big so quickly. I decided to take pictures of her for a three minute period to record her hustling and bustling around the bar and here goes...
Wow, that wore me out just watching her and taking these photos! She’s definitely one of the best bartenders I’ve ever seen in action and I’ve seen a lot of bartenders in action in my day!
Thanks to Michelle, Emily and everyone at Kep’s Sports Bar & Grill for a great day of beer and chicken wings! And thanks to Scott for driving and hanging out with me! We’ll see you all tomorrow!

Four Wings Guitar Picks—The wings are really done up nicely here and I love the fact you can get so many flavors in one single order!
