Live, from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, The Fox Pub and Cafe with special guest stars, Amber and Joe and featuring the Ready For Prime Beef Player, Marty Wombacher! And now, from all the way out on Pioneer Park (minutes from the MBIP World Headquarters), please welcome tonight’s host, The Fox Pub and Cafe!
Here we are at The Fox Pub and Cafe, they’ve recently remodeled and expanded the restaurant so I’m anxious to check it out!
Let’s go in and see what’s happening!
Looks like everyone is having a great Saturday night in here!
This is Molly who’s the hostess for this evening. I asked if I could wander around and take some photos and she told me to go right ahead. So ahead we go!
The bar is over here in the front corner of the building...
And as you can see, there’s a good selection of beers on tap and they’ve got a big selection of cans and bottles too. Here’s their beer and wine menu.
Over at the end of the bar I saw Brian and Ami and it turns out Brian was there with his entire family! Great to see all of them!
I think The Fox Pub may be the only British Pub in Peoria, I love all the English decorations in here including those portraits of the Fabulous Four!
As I said earlier, they’ve expanded and this is the new room off from the main dining room, let’s take a look in here!
It’s really nice and spacious in here and the vibe in the room is nice and relaxing.
Here’s a couple of knights in shining armor in the corner over here.
This is a shot from the back of the room and I think I see a couple of familiar faces at that table over there...
It’s my friends Amber and Joe! Okay, time to sit down at the table and start the dinner portion of the evening!
This is Alex, who’s our friendly and prompt waiter for the evening serving up a can of Carlsberg Beer.
We started off with an appetizer of the Queso Dip. this is a warm, spicy cheese dip served with house made tortilla chips and it’s really creamy, tangy and tasty! I forgot to take a photo of it when it was presented, so this is the “after” picture!
And here’s the main courses for the evenng! Amber got the Fish and Chips, Joe got the Cottage Pie and I took Joe’s suggestion and ordered the San Antonio Beefeater Brisket Sandwich. I also got a cup of the Sergeant Pepper’s Tomato Soup.
Everything was so good and this sandwich was unbelievable! You can read more about it in the review below, but it was tasty beyond belief!
On the way out I ran into Sharon and Brian and it was great to see them at the bar! Thanks to Amber and Joe for joining me for dinner and to everyone at The Fox Pub and Cafe for their wonderful hospitality and great food!
We started out with an appetizer of the Queso Cheese Dip and that was so good! It’s a warm, melted spicy cheese dip served with fresh tortilla chips for dipping and it is delicious! It’s rich, creamy and has just the right amount of spices added to it to make it tangy and tasty.
I had a cup of the Sergeant Pepper’s Soup, which is a tomato bisque soup that has roasted red peppers and smoked gouda cheese. It’s a hearty soup that’s so rich with flavor I can’t really describe it, you have to go and try it yourself and I suggest you do that as soon as possible! For my main course, I got the San Antonio Beefeater Brisket sandwich. Joe suggested this and I thank him for recommending it! The beef brisket was tender and flavorful and it’s topped off with savory grilled onions, melted pepper-jack cheese and served on a bakery fresh bun with their homemade pub dressing. The rich and sharp pepper-jack cheese compliments the onions and the tender brisket and it’s a delightful mix of flavors. A great sandwich!
Amber got the Fish and Chips and I’ve had that dish here before and it’s the best Fish and Chips in Peoria! The fish is beer-battered Haddock, deep fried to perfection. It’s crispy on the outside and flaky and rich on the inside. The hand-cut Fox fries are fresh, crispy and tasty. Joe got the Cottage Pie and it looked fantastic and he really enjoyed it. It had minced beef in a gravy and the pie is topped off with Mashed red potatoes and melted cheddar. It looked delightful and I may try it on my next visit!
