We’ve all seen TV news bloopers. YouTube has a lifetime’s worth of them, here’s just a sampling: Bloopers, bloopers and more news bloopers. After a while you become numb to these bloopers and blunders but there is one news blooper that happened on a New York local news station on September 16, 2009 that is the greatest and weirdest news blooper of all time!
That is when veteran New York news anchor, Ernie Anastos, casually uttered the following line on New York’s Fox 5 live nightly newscast: “Keep Fucking That Chicken.” He said it to Meteorologist, Nick Gregory, who tried to laugh it off, but Anastos’ co-anchor, Dari Alexander immediately had a horrific look on her face (see the photo from the newscast above). Nobody has ever figured out why he said this and it was the talk of the town in New York and on the internet for weeks afterward! I used the clip as a surprise link on Friday and below are six links about this infamous news blooper and a clip of my second favorite blooper from the Today Show. And then there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions for next week.
Ernie Anastos - Wikipedia Biography - Most people outside of New York don’t know who Ernie Anastos is, but if you live there you know him as the best known local news anchor. He’s a legendary New York news figure and kind of a real life Ron Burgundy.
Fox 5’s Ernie Anastos, On Air: ‘Keep F—ing That Chicken’ - New York Magazine referenced aforementioned Ron Burgundy in their account of the KFTC incident.
Ernie Anastos: “Keep Fucking That Chicken” - The Village Voice points out co-anchor Dari Alexander’s reaction, which was almost as good as the KFTC outburst!
Ernie Anastos F- BOMB Blooper and Apology - Here’s the clip with a slow motion take and Ernie’s half-hearted apology.
Ernie Arnastos Says Cock On Live TV - Cock-a-doodle don’t! About a year earlier, Ernie let this blooper fly while broadcasting the newsin the Big Apple!
Jane Fonda Drops The C-Bomb - This is probably my second favorite Blooper on TV, Jane Fonda casually throws out the word, “cunt” on The Today Show.
Last night definitely took a weird turn. Emo’s opened up while I was in Mexico, so I thought I’d go once in the afternoon and again in the evening to celebrate the opening of this iconic summer treat destination here in Peoria. Well I went in the afternoon and got a chili cheese dog and then I went to work. While at work my left foot that’s attached to the leg that got bitten by a spider (or something) in Mexico two weeks ago started feeling strange. So I took my shoe off and it had turned a lovely purple/black color. Plus I noticed a strange hole on my leg with little white pustule poking out and it scared the ever-loving shit out of me! I went to the ER and thankfully everything’s okay and you can read about that little adventure tomorrow. Tuesday we continue the MBIP Seven Months of Steak Tour at a classic Peoria steak destination. Wednesday I’m going to put up a Little Nut Hut tour. If you’re not familiar with the LIttle Nut Hut, click here to read this article and see a photo of one. They used to be in quite a few bars, but they’re a disappearing species and there’s just three left in Peoria. Tune in Wednesday to see this nutty tour. Thursday we continue the People of Peoria series with another random Peorian and Friday will be a Frozen Food Friday cooking adventure. And then on Saturday we complete the week with the second edition of our new series, Saturday Storefront. Okay, I have to go put some ice on my leg, we’ll see you all tomorrow!

THE OBLIGATORY CHURCH OF ROCK SUNDAY PLUG
I’ve been doing a weekly MBIP feature on the radio show The Church Of Rock which is broadcast live, worldwide out of Oregon on Sunday nights. Every week I pick a song and give a little talk about it before the song is played on the show. The hosts of the show are Rev. Derek Moody (some of you know him as Bloody Mess) and Sister Tracy. The show starts at 9PM CST and my segment will air at 9:30PM sharp! The song I chose this week is a song by The Stray Cats and I’ve got a tattoo story to tell that goes along with it. Be there or be L7! You can listen live by streaming from the KSKQ website right here!
