This year the Peoria Riverfront Museum hosted an exhibit featuring the work of Nathan Sawaya, who’s a Lego artist. The exhibit is gone, but there’s still Lego art happening right here in Peoria.
In September of 2018, I visited Ted Tiller’s (also known as Farmer Ted) garage, which houses an amazing Star Wars Lego art exhibit. Since then, Farmer Ted has updated the garage and he invited me back to do a sequel in 2019.
So, it’s lights…camera…action!
On the last visit, Farmer Ted gave me a Lego character that he created in my image, so I’m taking him with me and we’ll put him in a scene in this sequel to the 2018 post.
There’s the garage, let’s go inside and start this new Peoria Star Wars adventure!
There’s Farmer Ted pointing out some of his new Lego creations. Let’s take a closer look!
We’ll take some photos with the garage door open and then we’ll shut it and look at the space in the dark.
Wow, this station is totally new! Ted showed me how he has created levels in this station that you can only see by removing the top layers.
At the bottom of the station is a prison with actual prisoners doing time down there. That is so cool!
The work and details that he puts into this are amazing!
The Peoria Riverfront Museum should give him his own exhibit and I’m going to work on that!
There’s Ted pointing out another station that’s new in this Peoria Star Wars universe.
This is an impressive station on the coffee table next to some Star Wars coffee table books.
Here’s another brand new exhibit that wasn’t here on our last visit.
There’s a forrest on the top and a village below that. I’m just amazed at the fine detail work in all of this!
As impressive as this is in the cold light of day…
It’s really spectacular when the lights go out in here!
The forrest area has an all woman army in it, so I placed my mini character in there and chatted with one of the female soldiers. I told her she’d be featured on my blog and she wasn’t impressed. Hey, at least I tried!
The ceiling is really amazing with the lights and more Lego creations suspended up there.
This was a fun visit and it was great to catch up with Farmer Ted and see his new creations.
This is the end for 2019, but we’ve decided to make this a yearly event, so stay tuned for an update in 2020!
