It’s our fourth week gobbling our way through the menu at Arby’s fast food restaurant. We’re going to be sampling two more items from the Signature Sandwich portion of the menu today.
Just two cars in front of us today and I ordered and got the food in minutes. It’s nice when fast food lives up to its name!
Here we are back at the MBIP World Headquarters Kitchen and Tasting Area. Time to sample this week’s Arby’s offering!
Before we dive into the gyro sandwiches, check out this week’s receipt.
It’s not as pricey as the last couple of weeks, but it’s kind of scary, are we eating the devil’s food this week?
I’ve been impressed with their packaging in the past meals, but this is definitely an exception to that rule. They’re just wrapped up in brown paper. Very disappointing and kind of sad!
They don’t look too bad, let’s open them up and see what’s inside the pitas.
There’s a white sauce underneath the meat, onions and tomatoes, but it’s gyro Tzatziki sauce and not mayonnaise, so I’m not going to make the usual joke about you know who, doing you know what.
First Bites
Roast Beef Gyro: This was better than the other Arby’s meals I’ve had so far. The roast beef was a little more like real roast beef that I’ve had in previous sandwiches and the pita bread was fresh and soft. It was a little bland, but not horrible.
Roast Turkey Gyro: The turkey resembled Buddig lunch meat and was kind of tasteless, however the scary thing about this sandwich was that as I ate it, it started leaking some sort of weird juice from the bottom of the gyro onto the plate. It was almost like it was taking a piss and it really freaked me out!
The Verdict
As I said in the review of the Roast Beef Gyro, these weren’t horrible, but they weren’t that great either, so I can’t recommend them.
Plus I take offense at a sandwich that urinates when I’m eating it. I prefer sandwiches that you don’t have to put a Depends diaper on it before you eat it.
