Le Peep is mainly known for their fantastic breakfasts, but they also have an awesome sandwich menu.
I went their on my 41st week of a year-long sandwich tour and had a great and unique chicken sandwich there. The evidence is in the photos below and there’s also a link to the original post so you can see this whole sandwich spectacle in its entirety.
Now it’s time for Sherman to set the Sandwich Wayback Machine to the wonderful pre-pandemic year of 2017!
Sherman, set the Wayback Machine to March 28, 2017 and away we go!
Here we are at Le Peep Restaurant, which is located in a strip mall on University Street, near Pioneer Park.
They have a nice dining room in here, but since I was alone, I chose to sit at the front counter. Teresa served me up an iced tea with a beautiful smile!
They had a quartet of chicken sandwiches on the menu and I chose the Proud Bird, which sounded interesting and delicious!
After I ordered I walked around and looked at the beautiful stained glass and the award from the PJ Star for best breakfast back in 2016.
Meanwhile, back at the front counter…
I was served up a cup of French Onion Soup to start off my sandwich lunch. It was savory and delicious!
And now, here’s Teresa with the star of the post, the Proud Bird chicken sandwich!
This sandwich looks unbelievable! It’s like a buffet in a bun! Okay, time to dig in to this delightful looking sandwich!
This huge sandwich was impossible to pick up, so I finally surrendered and ate it with my fork and knife!
This sandwich consists of a chicken breast, Wisconsin white cheddar cheese, mushrooms, onions, peppers. sliced tomato and lettuce. And it’s served on a freshly toasted hoagie roll.
The chicken is cut up into big chunks and it’s really juicy. There’s so much of the creamy and rich Wisconsin cheddar cheese, the chicken is literally swimming in it! The mushrooms, onions and peppers add a nice variety of flavors and consistency to the sandwich and it is so delicious!
Definitely a tasty and satisfying chicken sandwich!
