In a true Spinal Tap moment, we’re up to week number eleven on this corn dog tour!
I thought we’d go to one of my favorite hot dog locations, Wonderdog which originally was only located in East Peoria, but they opened up a Peoria location at the beginning of this year, so let’s get over their and “tap” into their corn dog on this eleventh corny week of this food tour!

Sunday
I came here on a Sunday afternoon and the place looked a little dark.
I went up to the door and that font is hard to read, but it lists the hours and the bottom line says: Sun. - Closed.

Monday
Okay, we’re back on Monday and things look a little brighter here and the open sign is lit up!
Hooray, it’s corn dog time!
I went in and Taylor was working behind the counter, she took our corn dog order and flashed a pretty smile for the MBIP Camera!
I grabbed a seat over here in the corner and marked my territory with my iced tea cup.
I love the Wonderdog napkin holder!
Here’s a shot from the back of the hot dog diner.
There’s an award and an PJ Star article about the Peoria store opening from last January.
I love all the hot dog art in here and my favorite is the neon hot dog all lit up on the wall over here.
This TV screen flashes different items of food available here and the corn dog came on at a perfect time…
Because I was just served up this week’s corn dog dinner!
I got a side of onion rings and they were golden, crispy and tasty.
Now on to the star of the show…
This week’s corn dog!
It needs some mustard and I was a little alarmed when there was no mustard at the condiment station over here. Ketchup on a corn dog is a definite no-no!
Taylor saved the day by giving me some mustard packets up at the front counter. We’re back in corn dog business!
I slathered on a healthy dollop of mustard and took a bite. The corn dog was a little on the bland side
It was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, but it didn’t have a lot of taste. I can’t say for sure, but I think it’s pre-made and not battered in-house.
It wasn’t terrible, just a little on the bland side.

CORN DOG RATING
{Based On A Four Corn Dog Rating System)
I’ll give it a two corn dog rating.
I love Wonderdog and think this corn dog is better suited for younger kids, I suggest the Wonderdog when you come here. It never disappoints! Check out my Wonderdog reviews here and here.
