Live from Peoria, Illinois it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Peoria Riverfront Museum’s Christmas in the Village and featuring special guest stars, Jane, Peter, Daphne, Clare, Paul, Louisa, Swanee’s Pretzels and the owner of Triple Dipples, Harreld!
Now please welcome this week’s host, Peoria Riverfront Museum’s, Christmas in the Village!
Here we are and before we enter the Christmas Village let’s check out the Christmas Tree over there.
Wow, it’s spectacular and I think this is the largest Christmas tree in Peoria!
Here’s a close-up of the top of the tree and a couple of shots from behind the scenes.
There’s the Dome all lit up and looking extraordinary in this holiday season!
Okay, time to enter the Christmas Village. The entrance is over by the Christmas wreath arch and let’s travel up the stairs to the Village!
We’re met by this jolly horn player up at the top of the stairs as we make our way inside of this festive and fun Christmas Village.
Wow, it certainly is shiny and spectacular once you make your way inside of the Christmas Village.
There’s local vendors in here including, C x T Roasting Company and Jane’s Sweet Addictions.
And speaking of Jane’s Sweet Addictions, there’s the owner of Jane’s Sweet Addictions, Janey Scott! Great to see her and then I ran into the owner of Born Paint, Paul Berres who was enjoying the Christmas Village with his son-in-law, Peter, his daughter, Clare and his two grandchildren, Daphne and Louisa. So wonderful to see all of them!
And then I ran into Santa Claus himself! He told me that he had heard I haven’t been a very good boy this year and said I probably wouldn’t be getting any decent presents this year. Oh well, what are you going to do? Ho, ho and ho!
The sights in The Christmas Village were nothing short of spectacular!
I decided on a jumbo pretzel over here at Swanee’s Soft Baked Pretzel Truck for our Saturday night dinner.
The line moved fast and soon I was face to face with the pretzel makers within the salty pretzel van. They were friendly fellows and now it’s time to enjoy this Saturday night pretzel dinner!
I found a table to sit at and enjoy this pretzel dinner at and it was so tasty and satisfying!
I got a Bacon and Cheddar Jumbo Pretzel and it was out-of-this-world tasty and delicious!
The pretzel was crispy and salty on the outside and drenched in a thick and rich cheddar cheese sauce and then topped off with a layer of smokey and savory bacon.
Pretzel…warm cheese sauce…bacon…who could not love this? I think this is the best pretzel I’ve ever had in my life! What a tasty treat!
After that delicious pretzel, I stopped at the Triple Dipple’s Food Truck for a sweet dessert treat.
I met the friendly owner of Triple Dipple’s, Harreld and the turtle cheesecake was a spectacular sweet treat!
If you missed the Christmas Village this year, mark your calendars, they already have December 6th and 7th earmarked for next year’s festive holiday celebration down here on the riverfront.
I can’t wait!
