Summer is grinding to a halt, a week from Saturday is the official start of the fall season, so I thought I’d do one more grilling episode and hang up the barbecue tongs for the season.
Okay…are you ready? Let’s cook!
Alrighty, we’re keeping it simple for this last grilling episode of the season, it’s a meat and potatoes dinner!
I went to Alwan and Sons Meat Co. and got a bone-in Kansas City steak and a twice-baked potato. We’re going to marinade the steak in those two Budweiser Marinade sauces and I got a special steak sauce to put on the cooked steak.
First we’ll prep the steak by stabbing it repeatedly with a fork (Insert your own obligatory Charles Manson stabbing joke here) and then seasoning it with, red pepper, Grill Master brown sugar and spicy seasoning and a nice dollop of black pepper on both sides of the steak.
Now we’ll add liberal doses of both the Budweiser Bold & Savory and Sweet & Tangy Marinade. Then we cover that with foil and put it in the refrigerator overnight.
See you all tomorrow!
We’re back, it’s the next day and we’re going to start off by spraying the twice-baked potato with a layer of I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter and then putting it in a 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes.
Now we’ll start heating the MBIP Grill up…
And we’ll take our marinated steak out, throw it on the grill and shut the lid.
And we’ll crack open tonight’s appetizer, a giganzo can of Bud Light. Cheers!
While we wait for everything to be done, enjoy this video of Peoria from 1967-1968!
This is interesting to me, because we we lived in Louisville, Kentucky from 1963 to 1969, so I don’t remember much about Peoria in the ’60’s.
Oh the things we learn here at MBIP!
Alright, the food is all cooked up and ready to be plated!
The steak and the twice-baked potato look and smell fantastic!
Instead of plating it up, I decided to use the pan and foil pan to eat from, less dishes that way!
I started with the twice-baked potato and these are always so delicious! They’re huge potatoes with a topping of sausage, shredded cheese and bacon.
Now it’s time to break out that steak sauce I mentioned at the top of this post!
It’s “Jorghi’s Best” Vidalia Onion Steak Sauce. I saw it at Alwan and Sons and thought I’d give it a try!
I poured a generous amount on the steak and then dug in to this meaty delight!
It was so flavor-filled from soaking overnight in the dueling Budweiser marinades and very tender and juicy! The steak sauce added a wonderful flavor level to the mix and this was such a fantastic meal!
Nice to end the season on such a delicious and tasty note!
That concludes the 2023 MBIP Grilling Season…oh shit, I need to figure out something to do on Friday’s now! Aaaaahhh!
