I’ve done blogs on Kenny’s Westside Pub almost from the day it opened up!
Their first day open was St. Patrick’s Day in 2013 and I went and met owner Sean Kenny less than a month later in the beginning of April, 2013 and published my first post on Kenny’s Westside Pub!
It’s hard to believe that that was over ten years ago! A decade!
After three years of establishing Kenny’s as one of the most popular bars on Farmington Road, Kenny’s outgrew the original location and in 2016 the second act of Kenny’s Westside Pub happened when Sean opened up a brand new Kenny’s Westside Pub in downtown Peoria on Jefferson Avenue.
Through the years I’ve published a lot of blogs on Kenny’s Westside Pub and I reassembled some of the hundreds of photos I’ve taken through the years to give you an historical tour of Kenny’s Westside Pub via MBIP!

IN THE BEGINNING: KENNY’S WESTSIDE PUB ON FARMINGTON ROAD
That top photo is the first photo I ever took of Kenny’s Westside Pub on Farmington Road back in 2013! He didn’t even have a sign back then.
Then more photos outside as he turned the place into his own popular spot and there’s shots of the inside of the bar in West Peoria.
Then three years later after Sean turned Kenny’s into one of the most popular bars on Farmington Road and crowds were spilling out into the street…
It was time to move on down the road!

Here’s Sean in front of the. brand spanking new Kenny’s Westside Pub in downtown Peoria on Jefferson Street. This place is twice the size of the Farmington Road tavern complete with a space that he turned into a live music theater that has never been seen in Peoria before!
He gave me a tour while they were still putting the new place together and you can see that post right here.

KENNY’S WESTSIDE PUB: THE SECOND ACT IN DOWNTOWN PEORIA!
The downtown Kenny’s Westside Pub took my breath away, what a beautiful place and a wonderful additon to downtown Peoria!
From the moment it opened it became a classic Peoria downtown destination for food, drink, live music and tons of funs!

KENNY’S CUISINE!
The food at Kenny’s Westside Pub is unbelievable.
It’s absolutely four star dining and Sean Kenny wrote every recipe from the Irish Stew to the pork tenderloin to the fish and chips and the Sean’s Dublin Dip sandwich. It is unique, original and such tasty and delicious food fare!
The grilled cheese pictured above was featured on our recent MBIP Grilled Cheese Tour and got a four star rating. Check out that post here.
This is way beyond pub grub and is a fine dining experience within a tavern at its finest hour!

THE PEOPLE AT KENNY’S WESTSIDE PUB
Kenny’s always has a friendly crowd and I’ve met and taken pictures of old friends here and brand new ones of people I’ve met here through the years!
It’s a friendly place filled with wonderful and fun people, and it’s always a blast to come here and meet nice, like-minded folks!

LIVE MUSIC, PART ONE
Sean is a huge supporter of live music in Peoria and has created one of the best rooms in the city for live music.
There’s a state of the art stage complete with professional lighting that elevates every band and artist that plays here into another creative stratosphere. There’s other places in town featuring live music, but no place has an atmosphere like this one for live shows.
You have to see this to believe it and after you do, you’ll be a true believer in the magic of the live music at Kenny’s Westside Pub!
It truly is Peoria’s home for live music and bands come here from all over the country to play here.

LIVE MUSIC PART TWO!

INTRODUCING THE MAN, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND: SEAN KENNY!
I really have a world of respect for Sean Kenny!
It’s not easy running an average bar, but he’s managed to run and own a bar that’s equal parts restaurant, tavern and concert hall! I want to thank him for building an entertainment mecca in downtown Peoria for all of us to enjoy!
Here’s some photos of Sean in action at the bar and with Chris Herold, Bill King and Yours Fooly along with Greg Batton at Kenny’s.
I feel honored to be part of this legendary Peoria tavern’s history!
Cheer’s to Sean Kenny and Kenny’s Westside Pub, stop by and have dinner, drinks and enjoy the live music on weekends and the local talent on Wednesday open stage nights!
Oh and over a year ago, Sean saved a piece of Peoria tavern history when he purchased the legendary Friendly Valley Tap. You can read all about that here and here and then stop out to the Friendly Valley for a beer or three!
