There’s a used bookstore in the basement of the Peoria Public Library that I’ve had on my list of things to go and check out for a long time.
Well, it’s a new year and time to finally make a stop at the Friendly Finds Bookstore in the basement of the Peoria Public Library.
Whoosh…off we go!
Here we are at the main branch of the Peoria Public Library on Monroe Street in downtown Peoria.
Let’s go in and find this bookstore within the library!
We’re here at the main lobby area and there’s the sign for the Friendly Finds Bookstore.
It’s on the Lower Level Two, translation: The Basement. I’m guessing we won’t find any of The Ramones down there.
We’ll go down a few flights of stairs and through these doors into the hallway, which leads us to…
This window display filled with interesting looking coffee table books. Looks like we’re close to our destination!
Yes! Here we are at The Friendly Finds Bookstore. The doors are wide open and welcoming, so let’s go inside and take a look around in here.
There’s a nice selection of hardback and coffee table books in here and the books in the last shot are just 25 cents apiece!
There’s more shelves of books over here and the magazines on this table are free for the taking! Such a deal!
There’s a little lounge area over here and a front desk in the corner of the room over there. There’s was a nice woman behind the desk, but she was a little camera shy so she chose not to be in the shot.
I told her this was a nice store and she laughed and said there was plenty more books in the back through that doorway.
Wow, I thought the front room was the whole store, let’s take a look back here through this doorway.
Holy freaking moley! There’s more books in here than you can imagine! I was blown away by this!
There is aisle after aisle of books and they are all categorized and easy to find what you’re looking for.
There’s such a wide selection of hardcover and paperback books in here it’s simply mind-boggling! I’ve always meant to get Tina Fey’s book, maybe today is that day!
In addition to a wide variety of books, they also have DVD’s, compact discs and even vinyl albums for sale in here!
I got the Tina Fey biography and a hardcover edition of the Oral History of the Daily Show. I didn’t see the prices and was thinking I’d probably have to pay at least ten bucks for the two of these titles.
You know what these two books cost me? $3.50! That’s right a hardcover and a paperback in perfect shape for a measly three dollars and fifty cents!
This bookstore is truly a hidden gem worth seeking out! They’re open Monday through Wednesday, noon to 4pm and every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month.
