Spalding Pastoral Center used to be Spalding Institute, which was the oldest Catholic High School in Peoria.
I’ve done three blogs from there and below are the photos from those blogs of this historical high school building and links to the three original posts.
Enjoy this trip back in time!

THE SPALDING PASTORAL CENTER
Here we are at Spalding Pastoral Center, formerly the home of Spalding Institute.
It’s located at the corner of Spalding and Madison, yep they named a street after this former high school!

INSIDE THE SPALDING PASTORAL CENTER
Here’s photos from the inside of what used to be Spalding High School.
There’s the chapel and some of the class rooms are now bedrooms for overnight Cursillo and Teens Encounter Christ weekend retreats that take place here.
Check out the bottle-cap artwork of the Pope! The artist who did this work is Kathy Eroh and she’s a local Peoria artist and teacher. You can see more of her work right here.

THE GRAFFITI ATTIC!
This was the most fascinating thing in the building that I discovered, the graffiti attic!
This is an attic where Spalding High School kids came up and made graffiti and messages back in the day and it’s still here.
What a cool trip back in time to walk around and see all of this graffiti from the past!

HIGH SCHOOL LUNCH @ SPALDING PASTORAL CENTER!
My cousin Danny went to high school at Spalding and on a return trip back to Peoria, I took him and his wife Patty back to school!
Here we are unpacking our lunches in the lunch room at Spalding Pastoral Center, this was a real trip back in time for Danny!
It was fun going back to school days and having lunch in the old Spalding High School with my cousins!
