Live, from Peoria, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Bay Leaf and featuring special guest stars, Amber, Joe and Navys.
Now please welcome this week’s host, from beautiful downtown Peoria, Bay Leaf!
Here we are at Peoria’s newest Indian restaurant, Bay Leaf in the Maxam Building in beautiful downtown Peoria.
Their sign is on the side of the building.
Here’s the front of the restaurant, let’s go in and start this week’s Saturday night adventure!
A red carpet greets you as you walk in and as I wander into the main dining room I see a couple of familiar faces at that table over there…
It’s my friends and frequent guest stars on the blog, Amber and Joe, they’re looking fantastic as always and this post is going up on a special day for Amber and Joe!
Today is none other than…
Their seventh wedding anniversary!
Seven years ago on this date, Amber and Joe got married and of course I was there and I took photos and did a blog about it. Check out the wedding post here and the sixth anniversary post right here.
Happy Seventh Wedding Anniversary, Amber and Joe, much love to both of you! Cheers to many more in the years to come!
Okay, back to our regularly scheduled Saturday Night post, already in progress!
There’s a ton of choices on the menu and our friendly and pretty waitress was Javys!
There’s Amber and Joe ordering and Javys placed the order for us. Okay, time for me to take some photos while our dinner is being prepared!
Here’s a shot of the main dining room and the ceiling to floor windows in the front that look out to Washington Street.
There’s a nice wooden bar in the back and as you can see, it’s fully stocked for your drinking pleasure!
While there isn’t seating upstairs, I thought I’d wander up there to get a couple photos from the second floor.
There’s an aerial shot of the dining room and I love the classic tin ceiling that hangs overhead in here.
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Our dinner has started to arrive.
We got two appetizers to start the meal off which were an order of the Samosas and the Paneer Manchurian. They came with two house-made dipping sauces.
They were both tasty delights and were a delicious start to this Indian themed meal.
Shortly after the appetizers were served, our main courses arrived and they looked absolutely fantastic!
Amber got the Chicken Chettinad, Joe got an order of Chicken Korma and I got the Chicken Vindaloo.
The meals are served with white rice and we also got orders of the Butter and Cheese Naan.
Time to dig in to this wonderful Indian feast!
There’s the somewhat patent-pending, fuzzy-wuzzy action shot of Amber and Joe digging into their main courses.
They both raved about the food and said it was an extremely tasty dinner!
My Chicken Vindaloo was a spicy and tasty treat!
The chicken was juicy and seasoned to perfection. The sauce it was served in was tangy and so delicious!
I lived in New York City for 19 years where they have a wide array of Indian restaurants and I can easily testify that Bay Leaf has them all beat.
I highly recommend you try Bay Leaf for a delicious and uniquely satisfying dinner!
And the portions are so generous, you’re guaranteed to take home some tasty leftovers!
Thanks to Javys and everyone at Bay Leaf for a wonderful meal and a fun evening!
And thanks to Amber and Joe for joining me and Happy Seventh Wedding Anniversary to both of you!
