I thought we’d start this hot diggity dog tour at a classic Peoria hot dog and ice cream destination: Emo’s Dairy Mart.
So let’s get over there and say hi to Mr. Creepy Clown!
Here’s a drive-by shot of Emo’s, let’s park and start this doggone tour!
There’s the unique Emo’s Dairy Mart building that has been standing here on the corner of Prospect and War Memorial Drive for decades.
And there’s the iconic creepy clown that sits on top of the building and has been a Peoria landmark for years!
There’s always a line here, but it moves fast.
They have menus in the windows, but I already know what I’m going to order and that’s on three of the windows as well…
A hot dog!
I think they should change the colorization of those hot dogs, green and light blue aren’t really too appetizing…but what do I know?
These three friendly and cute girls were working behind the window and took our order!
Great to meet all of them and thanks for posting for the MBIP Camera!
There’s some tables right in front of the building that overlook Prospect Road.
I settled in at this table and took a long sip of my vanilla milkshake.
It was sweet, creamy and a rich delight. A wonderful milkshake on a hot June afternoon. Perfection!
Now it’s time to unwrap the star of the show…
The chili-cheese dog from Emo’s!
It looks really good, covered in chili sauce and a nice amount of melted cheddar cheese. Okay, time for man to bite dog!
It’s a really good chili-cheese dog and this and the vanilla shake are a tasty snack for this summer afternoon in June of 2024.

The Hot Dog Rating
This was a delicious chili-cheese dog, my only complaint is that the chili could’ve had a little more zing and flavor to it.
Having said that though, the cheese was rich and plentiful and the bun was bakery fresh, so all in all, it was a delicious chili-cheese dog.
I’ll give our first chili-cheese dog of this doggone tour a two and three quarters Oscar Mayer Wienermoblies rating.
