This week as we dive into Peoria’s past, we’re re-visiting one of Peoria’s most beloved and original hotels and restaurants…Jumer’s Castle Lodge!

These are photos of the outside of Jumer’s Castle Lodge in West Peoria.
Definitely the most unusual and unique Peoria hotel and restaurant ever!

THE CINNAMON ROLLS!
If you remember Jumer’s, you have to remember their legendary cinnamon rolls!

WHAT IT IS TODAY: THE GRAND REGENCY OF PEORIA (FORMERLY, THE COURTYARD ESTATES)
Today the Jumer’s building has become an assisted living complex called The Grand Regency of Peoria (Former Courtyard Estates).
To their credit they’ve kept the Jumer’s spirit alive and here’s some photos from a blog post I did a few years ago on the place. The link to the entire post is below.

SADLY, THE BEAR IS GONE, BUT HE LIVES ON DOWN THE STREET ON MAIN STREET
This bear used to stand tall outside of the lounge at Jumer’s, but he was moved to Thirty-Thirty Coffee on Main Street.
