I started the first MBIP food tour in September of 2013 and it’s something that got me a lot of followers and readers and kind of helped to put the MBIP blog on the map, so I’m eternally grateful for that!
This was the very first post from that series, which was a twenty week tenderloin tour in and around Peoria. I asked for suggestions on facecrack back then for places to go and got over 300 suggestions!
The place that got the most suggestions was the Midway Duck Inn located in Lowpoint, Illinois. So I steered the trusty MBIP Mobile to Lowpoint!
Here’s the first photo I ever took of the Midway Duck Inn back in 2013. I’ve been back many times since and we just enjoyed a fried chicken dinner here in May!
I was dining alone, so I chose to sit at their nice and spacious bar.
Here’s their tenderloin and I got it with a side of fries. It needs to be dressed up a little bit for the Friday money shot though!

There’s the money shot with mustard, pepper and onion slices added to the mix.
This was a fantastic breaded pork tenderloin sandwich and they still make them the same way, eleven years later!
You need to stop by and try one of these out!
