Well, it’s that time of the week, It’s time for the weekly update on how I’m doing with the writing of my forthcoming book, “Confessions Of A Spiteful Writer.”
I wrote chapter ten and then I went back and read it and I’m going to do it over. Part of it deals with the first few months I was doing freelance writing and that whole part is really boring, so I need to condense that and change some other stuff. I think once I get over this hurdle and I can really start moving on this thing. At least that’s what I’m telling myself today, we’ll see how it goes the next couple of days!
I posted my weekly YouTube video which is is me telling stories that may or may not end up in the book. If you want to see this week’s video, just click here or on the picture below to see this episode which is me telling a story about how I got to meet David Johansen from the New York Dolls, Buster Poindexter and he also starred in Scrooged! He told me a line that is classic and I’ll never forget it!

Chapter Eight - 1993: New York City
The apartment was tiny, but nice. The rent was $875 a month and that was a little shocking, especially considering this was 1993. I was paying $275 a month for a two bedroom apartment with a garage in Peoria at the time, so that rent was the first of many adjustments I would make on my way to becoming a New Yorker.
On July 7th, 1993 I boarded a plane heading to New York City and there was no return ticket this time. I had no job, knew about three people and I remember sitting at my window seat on the plane, looking out the window and thinking, “What in the holy flying fuck are you doing?”
I felt like throwing up, but there was no turning back now. The plane took off and when it landed it was the beginning of my 19 year run in New York City!
