Live from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night, starring this week’s host, Casa de Arte and featuring special guest stars, Carla, Tom and Arturo.
Now, please welcome from the Peoria downtown Warehouse District, tonight’s host, Casa de Arte!
Here we are at tonight’s dining destination, Casa de Arte on Adams Street in beautiful downtown Peoria! I’ll try and remember to get a shot of this when I leave after the sun has gone down!
As you can see there is outside seating available, but we’ll dine inside tonight.
Let’s go in and start our Saturday Night at Casa de Arte!
Art, tequila and tacos…who could ask for anything more?
Since I’m dining alone tonight I thought I’d snag a seat at the bar and I see a familiar face back there…
it’s Carla, who owns Casa de Arte with her husband, Arturo!
She’s looking beautiful tonight and she took my dinner order. While it’s being prepared, we’ll take a few photos.
Just as I was about to start snapping photos, my friend and former neighbor, Tom Landon came over and said hi.
It was great to see him and catch up on things. He was here for a birthday party, which I’ll feature in a photo soon, keep on scrolling!
There’s the back of the bar and a cooler at the end which houses a nice inventory of beer and other liquid refreshments.
Here’s the birthday party in the main dining room that Tom was part of. It looks like a fun evening for them!
Casa de Arte spotlights a different local artist every month and this month acclaimed Peoria artist Preston Jackson is the featured artist.
I love Preston’s paintings and sculptures so it was a treat to see them featured in Casa de Arte.
What fantastic art and so cool to have it on display in here.
Meanwhile, back at the bar…
Our Saturday night dinner has arrived and it looks fantastic!
I got a side dish of Elote/Street Corn and it was so delicious! It’s corn topped with mayonnaise, Cotija cheese and Tajin pepper.
This dish is so tasty and bursting with flavor! What a great start for our dinner!
For my main dish I got their signature, award winning taco, the Al Pastor/Marinated Pork Taco.
This is the best taco in town and if you’ve never had it, you have to try it out!
It’s tender, tasty marinated pork meat topped with lettuce and onions and wrapped in a homemade soft corn tortilla. This is an authentic Mexican taco and it’s packed with flavor and it’s so delicious!
Co-owner, Arturo came over just as I was finishing dinner and said hello. It was great to see him and catch up on things!
He said business has been great at the restaurant and they have a special Latin Fest event happening here on Saturday, September 28.
It’s their 4th Annual Latin Fest and there will be Casa’s delicious tacos, drinks, contests, raffles, dancing and a live band from Chicago, La Konkistadora.
You can read all about this event by clicking here.
Here’s that nighttime shot I promised!
Thanks to Carla, Arturo and everyone at Casa de Arte for a wonderful Saturday night dinner and evening in the Warehouse District in downtown Peoria!
