One of the many suggestions I’ve received for this rib tour was Smokin’ Notes BBQ in East Peoria. I’ve never been there, so we’re going to go visit it for the first time on our second week of sampling ribs.
Let’s go tap into Smokin’ Notes and speaking of Tap, take it away fellas with the tangy theme song for this saucy series!
Here we are at Smokin’ Notes BBQ in East Peoria. Let’s get inside because it’s freezing out here.
I have mentioned that I hate winter on here, haven’t I? Oh good!
It’s very nice in here and I was told to sit anywhere I wanted and as I looked around inside, I saw a familiar face down there at the end of the window-side booths…
It’s my friend, Bob Gordon!
Bob is the owner and operator of Acme Comics and it’s always great to see him and have him as a special guest star!
These three pretty women were on duty for the evening and agreed to pose for the MBIP Camera. They are from left: Lina, Nellie and Jessie!
We checked out the menu and I’m going with the Spare Ribs dinner, keep on scrolling to see what Bob ordered.
We started off with these giganzo draft beers, cheers!
They have a nice bar in here and there’s tables and chairs in the back room.
I love all the music-related art in here!
Meanwhile, back at our booth…
The food is starting to arrive!
We started off with an appetizer order of bbq chicken wings. They were plump, juicy and delicious!
There’s Bob digging into a wing!
The main courses have arrived!
Bob got the Pulled Pork Dinner which comes with garlic toast, baked beans and a generous order of French Fries. I got the aforementioned half rack Spare Ribs Dinner with mac ‘n cheese and cole slaw.
Everything looks fantastic!
Bob enjoyed his Pulled Pork Dinner and said it was very tasty and delicious!
The cole slaw and mac ‘n cheese were wonderful side dishes and full of flavor, but now, on to the star of the show…
The half rack of BBQ Spare Ribs!
These look like fantastic ribs, let’s try them out!
Wow, these ribs are so tender and tasty and as you can see, the meat literally falls off of the bone!
I added some extra sauce and these ribs are truly a meaty delight!
They are so tasty and tender and I loved them!
These ribs were so delicious and tangy. They were cooked perfectly and the sauce and flavor had a delicious tang to it. I’m going to give them a high rating of 10.5 out of the Spinal Tap 11 rating system!
You should definitely check out Smokin’ Notes BBQ in East Peoria!
