I can’t believe it, but we’re up to month number twelve of this clucked-up fried chicken dinner tour! It’s been a year and this proves that time does indeed fly when you’re eating fried chicken!
We decided for our final fried chicken stop we’d go to a legendary place that has a Sunday Fried Chicken dinner special every week. And that place is Jim’s Bistro in Peoria Heights, so let’s go and start this twelfth clucked-up month!
Here we are at Jim’s Bistro in Peoria Heights.
Jim’s Bistro has been serving up delicious food for over 50 years and on Sunday nights they have a delicious fried chicken special.
Let’s go in and start our fried chicken night out on the town!
They have a nice bar in here but, as usual on these fried chicken outings, we have some special guest stars, so let’s get settled in at a table and meet them!
From the top, my brother Tom, our friend Mike and my cousin Jeff.
Great to see all of them and time to start our twelfth fried chicken dinner. I can’t believe it’s been a year of doing this!
Our server was a super-nice guy and I forgot to write his name down! He was friendly and a wonderful server and I apologize for not remembering his name.
We started off with salads and Jeff and I got the French Onion Soup.
The French Onion Soup here is so delicious, it’s probably the best I’ve ever had!
There’s everyone digging into the first course.
I stepped away and took some photos of Sunday night in Jim’s Bistro! A wonderful and fun place to be!
Booths line the far wall and there’s an elevated platform area up front that overlooks Prospect Road. I love the classic tin ceiling in here!
Here’s the owner and operator of Jim’s Bistro, J.D. Comfort!
J.D.’s a great guy and it’s always a pleasure to see him!
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Our dinner’s have arrived!
Tom got the Filet Mignon with green beans and a twice-baked potato and the rest of us all got the Sunday night fried chicken dinners!
Everything looks fantastic!
Wow, the chicken is crispy on the outside and so juicy and delicious on the inside. It’s cooked to perfection and absolutely fabulous!
Everyone raved about the food and this was a fun and delicious evening at Jim’s Bistro.

Jeff’s Clean Plate Award!
Here’s Jeff working his way through his fried chicken dinner…
And as always, he wins this month’s clean plate award! No one can clean them bones like Jeff!
——
The Fried Chicken Dining Experience
Jim’s Bistro is a Peoria tradition and it’s got a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The food is fantastic and it’s always a pleasure to dine here!
I’ll give Jim’s Bistro a well-deserved three and a half Col. Sanders rating for the wonderful dining experience in here!
——
The Fried Chicken
This was some of the best fried chicken we’ve had on this twelve month tour! This is only available on Sunday night’s and I suggest you go and check it out! It’s seasoned perfectly, crispy and so juicy and flavorful!
I’ll give their chicken a high rating of three point six Col Sanders!
Great to see everyone and thanks to everybody at Jim’s Bistro for the fantastic food and wonderful service.
And we will be back for a wrap-up of this whole tour next month, so stay tuned for that!
