Live, from West Peoria, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Curly Shawarma!
Now, please welcome, all the way from West Peoria…Curly Shawarma!
Here we are at Curly Shawarma on Western Avenue in West Peoria.
The place looks nice and I love the sign, very colorful!
There’s some nice food photos in the front window but one thing is bothering me, why is the “E” in the “OPEN” sign not in line with the other letters?
Was this done on purpose as some sort of a design thing? Was this a mistake and did they get this sign at some sort of bargain basement price? What is the meaning behind this?
I stood there way too long contemplating this. Let’s just go inside and try and put this behind us!
There’s the front counter where the food is prepared and where you order.
The people working there on this evening were a little camera-shy and didn’t want their photos taken, but they said it was fine for me to take photos inside, so here’s some of the front counter area. I like the “Welcome” sign!
The menu’s are hanging up from the ceiling and they list some of the favorite items they sell off to the left.
I resisted the urge to ask if they’re going to start another restaurant called, “Larry and Moe Shawarma.”
You can find out what I ordered by continuing to scroll on down!
There’s the meat cooking in the back along with the Curly Fries and the Falafel and there’s vegetables in trays up in the front of the counter.
The drinks are over here…
And, as you can see, there’s ample seating in here. Just as soon as I took this photo, my order was called out, it’s time for our Saturday night dinner at Curly Shawarma!
I decided to sit here and have a view of the cars driving up and down Western Avenue in West Peoria.
Okay, time to reveal what I ordered for dinner!
I got the Mix Grill Plate which has three skewers of meat and it comes with hummus, salad and pita bread. I also got a side of the Curly Fries.
This is the Beef Kabob and the Chicken Tawook.
The meat is seasoned to perfection, juicy and so delicious!
The Curly fries were crisp and had a delicious and zingy seasoning happening. Very tasty!
The Beef Kutta was the third meat in the plate and it was a juicy and tender treat!
The rice was also prepared perfectly and was a nice side dish to the meal.
I put the meats in the pita along with some hot sauce for a tasty pita pocket sandwich.
This was a very tasty dinner and excellent Middle Eastern food! I highly recommend it and I will be returning for more!
Now if I could just figure out what’s going on with the “E” in the “OPEN” sign! I may never be able to leave this spot!
