Lit. on fire books has had quite a history here in Peoria and right here on MBIP!
I first met owner Jessica back in the summer of 2015 when she first opened lit. on fire in the back of The Sunbeam Building. Then In 2017, she expanded that space and later that year she moved the store to the Main Street location where the shop stands tall and proudly today.
And she’s added another room to that space, so let’s go check out shop number five from MBIP’s Eight Shops of Xmas: lit. on fire books!
Here we are at lit. on fire books on Main Street. Quite an impressive storefront!
The front windows are looking amazing and inviting,
Let’s go inside and see what’s happening
Owner Jessica was off and the person who was volunteering to run the shop was a little camera shy, so here’s a picture of Jessica from when I stopped in to do a post on the Writing Shed a couple of months ago.
I was told to go ahead and take as many photos as I wanted, so let’s take a tour of lit. on fire books!
Wow, the store is looking great and there’s a ton of books in here to choose from!
Every subject you can imagine is represented in here.
In addition to a huge inventory of new and used books, they also have some nice holiday cards on display over here.
I love this comfortable corner over here. Jessica encourages people to relax in here and enjoy her selection of books on display.
She also hosts open mic nights in here and there’s one coming up on December 20th that you don’t want to miss!
There’s even more books in this back room over here!
The inventory and selection of books available here is mind-blowing!
Jessica supports local authors in here and there’s a lot more than you can imagine. You need to stop in here to check all of them out!
This room also has books but it also features a lot of gift items on display.
You won’t find these items anywhere else in town or on the internet, so stop in today for some unique shopping at lit. on fire books!
Jessica has had a tough year, she was diagnosed with leukemia and has been bravely dealing with that while keeping her book store alive and running. She’s bravely kept a smile on her face and kept the doors to lit. on fire open.
You can read more about this by clicking here and helping out to keep this unique and local business alive with a donation. You can also click here for other ways to support this one-of-a-kind local business.
Jessica has made a location where books and people are celebrated equally, please donate or stop by and buy a book or a gift to help her keep this wonderful location thriving! This is a location where everyone is welcome and everyone fits in no matter who you are. Long live lit. on fire books where everyone is welcome and we’re all all right!
