Live, from Peoria Heights, it’s Saturday Night starring a trifecta of hosts including Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza, Poor Bros. Taproom and the Heritage Square Courtyard featuring special guest stars, Roy, Brayden, Juan, Jason, Epiphany, Kevin, Emma, Janice, Bryan, Cyndi, Hot Rod and musical guest stars, Brett Conlin And The Mindight Miles. Whew!
Ladies and gentlemen please welcome the first host of the evening, Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza!
I’m hanging out with my friend Jason tonight, who drove us to the first stop of the evening, Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza. The plan is to have dinner here, then grab some beers next door at Poor Bros. Taproom & then enjoy the live show at Heritage Square Courtyard starring Brett Conlin And The Midnight Miles.
Speaking of live music, as soon as we got out of the car, we ran into Roy Ponce, one of Peoria’s greatest guitarists and musicians and a really nice guy. Always a pleasure to see him!
Okay, time to let the dinner portion of the evening begin! Let’s go in and see what’s happening at Brienzo’s Wood Fired Pizza on this wonderful Saturday evening!
Brayden was at the host station and told us it would be at least a half an hour wait till a table opened up. As you can see, it’s jammed in here and every table is taken!
Luckily we spied two empty seats at the end of the bar and we quickly snagged them!
Juan was the friendly bartender on duty and even though he was slammed, he took the time to pose for the MBIP Camera. Nice!
It was so crowded I couldn’t even wander around and take photos, so here’s a couple from my vantage point at the bar.
The second one features the wood-fired pizza oven that makes these pizzas so special and tasty!
Jason got the La Rosa pizza which has a marinara alfredo blend sauce, spicy Italian sausage, basil, garlic and mozzarella cheese, I got an order of the spicy Szechuan chicken wings and we split an order of the classic breadsticks with their housemade marinara sauce.
Everything looks absolutely delicious!
There’s Jason digging into his pizza!
Jason was last seen on the blog here when we taped an episode of the Couch Pilots Podcast which he co-hosted with Blake. They had their final podcast just about a month ago and Jason is currently co-hosting another podcast which I’ll be appearing on soon! More about that in a little bit. Keep on scrolling!
The wings were so tasty and juicy and I applaud Brienzo’s for their quick and speedy service in spite of the fact that they were absolutely slammed on this Saturday evening!
Wow, check out the crowd at Heritage Square for tonight’s show starring Brett Conlin And The Midnight Miles!
Before the show, let’s go get a beer and take some photos inside of Pour Bros. Taproom!
Yes, it’s crowded in here too! People everywhere, so let’s make our way up to the bar.
As you can see, in addition to beer there’s a large inventory of other spirits and alcohol for mixed drinks and cocktails.
Epiphany and Kevin were doing bartender duty this evening and Kevin is also a co-host of the previously mentioned podcast along with Jason and their friend Dustin. The podcast is called Radio Rewind and it pairs and pits songs from different decades.
Jason, Kevin and Dustin will be featured this Friday on MBIP with photos from the podcast which I was a guest star on. Stay tuned!
Pour Bros. Taproom has an amazing selection of beers on tap and if you haven’t been here and experienced this, you really need to check it out. It’s one of Peoria’s most unique and sudsy destinations!
There’s Jason sampling one of the many beers on tap.
There’s Jason meeting some of his friends who showed up for the show this evening.
I got a photo of the group and they are, from left to right: Emma, Janice, Bryan, Cyndi and Jason! They’re wonderful people and it was great to meet all of them and hang out for the evening!
Alright, it’s just about showtime! There’s Brett Conlin And The Midnight Miles setting up for tonight’s show here at the Heritage Square Courtyard.
And now, ladies and gentlemen…
Brett Conlin And The Midnight Miles!
Wow, this is a great band and they put on a fantastic show! They play original music and the music is a nice blend of rock ‘n roll, alternate country and punk rock. What a lively and fun show.
You can read more about the band here on their website.
Hot Rod came up and said hi and we had a nice chat! I think this is the first time I’ve seen him outside of Jimmy’s Bar on New Year’s Eve!
Great to see him and now…back to the show!
This was a fabulous live show and what a fun Saturday night!
Check out Brett Conlin And The Midnight Miles videos and songs on YouTube.
Thanks to Jason for driving and hanging out and everyone else we met on this fun evening out on the town!
