This week marks one month on this corn dog food tour, time flies when you’re eating breaded hot dogs on a stick!
Today we’re picking up our special corn dog guest star, so let’s hit the road and you’ll soon find out who I’m talking about!
Here we are at ACME Comics and if you follow this blog at all, it should be crystal clear who the special corn dog guest star is.
It’s none other than the man behind that counter over there…
The owner and operator of ACME Comics, Bob Gordon!
Great to see Bob, now let’s head out for the fourth week of this corn dog adventure!
This week we’re going to sample mini corn dogs here at Jack’s on Adams.
Let’s go inside and see what’s happening.
It looks great in here as always and Bob and I settled in to the corner table opposite the bar.
Rachel was our friendly and pretty waitress and she took our luncheon orders.
Here’'s the man himself, Jack Berres, the owner and CEO of Jack’s on Adams!
Jack said things have been great in here and that the live music and the luncheon and dinner menu have been bringing in a nice and steady clientele to the place. Great to hear and great to see Jack as always!
He recently celebrated a year of being open in downtown peoria and you can read all about that by clicking here for the article in the PJ Star.
There’s a shot from the corner of the bar and as you can see, there’s a great choice of beer to be had in here!
Brooklyn was working behind the bar and she posed for the MBIP Camera while flashing a beautiful smile for us!
Jack has really gotten some cool art and posters decorating the walls in here. I love it!
There’s the front dining area and the stage where live music happens in here at night.
Jack’s draws in great musical talent and you can keep up to date on who’s playing here by checking the Jack’s facecrack page.
Jack put in a nice beer patio this year that faces Adams Street and downtown Peoria.
Here’s the gaming room opposite the front dining area for all of you gamblers out there!
That last shot features one of the biggest machines I’ve ever seen! Maybe that means the payouts are big as well, stop in and find out!
I love the Peoria Proud wall in here!
New businesses and signs continue to be added and it’s very cool to see the support that Jack shows for other local businesses in here!
Meanwhile, back at our table, there’s Rachel delivering up our lunch and this week’s corn dog selection!
Bob got the Adams Street Club Sandwich and I got the mini corn dog appetizer basket.
There’s Bob enjoying his sandwich and he said it was very tasty and enjoyable.
The Adams Street Club consists of Turkey, Ham, Bacon, American Cheese, Lettuce and Tomato. You have your choice of getting it wrapped in a fresh tortilla or pressed Cuban bread and Bob went with the Cuban bread.
It looks like a fabulous sandwich!
Here’s this week’s corn dog presentation, a mini corn dog basket. As a rule of thumb, mini corn dogs are usually frozen corn dogs and while tasty they tend to be nothing out of the oridinary.
Well, I had an idea to dress these up take them beyond the normal mini corn dog expectations. They come with a tub of Honey Mustard dipping sauce, but i also requested a tub of the Jack’d Up Sauce which is their homemade honey and heat sauce that is so unique and tasty.
I combined the two sauces to create a Jack’d Up Honey Mustard sauce in this glass.
That sauce took what would’ve been an average mini corn dog basket to a tasty and fantastic Jack’d up level of flavor!

CORN DOG RATING
{Based On A Four Corn Dog Rating System)
Mixing those sauces took this to a high rating of three and three quarters corn dogs!
Thanks to Bob for hanging out and to Rachel, Jack, Brooklyn and everyone at Jack’s for the great service, hospitality and food!
Stop by and support this fabulous local tavern for lunch or dinner and enjoy the nightly live music here!
