Alright, It’s hard to believe, but I’ve been doing this blog for over twelve years, which means I have a backlog of work that a lot of people haven’t seen or maybe have forgotten about.
So I thought I’d start dedicating the Thursday MBIP Post to blog posts from the past. Plus this will give me some time to work on my forthcoming book, “Confessions of a Spiteful Writer.”
Today we’re looking back at one of the most widely read posts, I’ve ever put up here.
On October 4, 2017, I put up an oral history of The Coachmen, one of Peoria’s most popular local bands back in the ’60’s and one of the members was none other than Dan Fogelberg who later went on to become an internationally known singer/songwriter in the ’70’s and ’80’s.
I was lucky to interview the surviving members of the band in 2017 after Dan had passed away in 2007. Coachmen member Tom Cain was a big help with this oral history and he passed away on June 24, 2021, so I dedicate this Throwback Thursday to his and Dan’s memory. I thank them and the other Coachmen for sharing their memories of this special time from Peoria’s past with us.
