In the next couple of weeks, it’s both Lita Ford’s and Joan Jett’s birthdays. In celebration of this, today we have seven links to online articles about the band that they both started in: The Runaways!
I loved this band when I was in high school and they never have gotten the respect that they are due. As one of the first all female rock ’n’ roll bands, playing their own songs and instruments, they knocked down doors for female rockers like Debbie Harry, The Bangles and The Go-Go’s, not to mention the whole Riot Grrl movement in the ’90’s.
In addition to the article links there’s also a link to a video with Joan Jett and Cherie Currie talking about the band and then there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions! So there!
